This course will provide you with the foundational knowledge and terminology to better understand the LGBTQ+ community, as well as key issues faced by members of the community and practical tools to further allyship towards and inclusion of LGBTQ+ colleagues in the workplace. From understanding the key moments in U.S. LGBTQ+ history to breaking down the LGBTQ+ acronym, this course will cover everything from sexual orientation and gender identity and unpacking the gender binary, to the importance of pronouns and how we can all use them to foster more inclusive workplace environments.
LGBTQ+ Inclusion is an ideal course for allies and non-LGBTQ+ individuals who are interested in furthering their knowledge of the LGBTQ+ community and want to learn the skills needed to become better allies to the LGBTQ+ community, specifically in a workplace context. Please note though that this course is open to all individuals, and we welcome the participation of LGBTQ+ members; the goal of this course is to build more awareness around the LGBTQ+ community and develop stronger allyship skills.
Upon completion of this course, participants will understand the key elements, concepts and issues surrounding the LGBTQ+ community and have the skills necessary to successfully engage in conversations and initiatives centered around furthering more inclusive and respectful workplace environments for LGBTQ+ colleagues and friends.
